A decade ago, as I await in an auditorium of hundreds of different smiles, hundreds of different voices filling the place with the beautiful chaos of hundreds of different stories being told at the same time. A man with an enthralling smile said a playful “Hi” that marked the beginning of the most exciting chapter in my life.
A friend giggled, “Ace, si Mhia. Mhia, si Ace.” Who would’ve thought that in the next ten years, it turned to “Si Mhia AT si Ace” – never one without the other.
Uncertainties. Differences. Individuality. All these threatened to break it to “Si Mhia or si Ace?”. Who was at fault? Who would humble first?
There were times struggles like these made us want to be alone and ask ourselves, “Mas mabuti kaya kung si Mhia lang? Si Ace lang?”
But the same question led us to stick together for we find ourselves with the same realization. No, being apart was nothing close to good.
As we journeyed a decade of trying to find what should be between “Mhia” and “Ace”, finally we found the perfect answer.
“Mhia and Ace” will be no more, for as we end this chapter, we vow to be Mhia + Ace as we are joined forever by our Creator.
